Урок английского языка "Средства массовой информации в современном мире".

Конспект открытого урока по английскому языку на тему:
«Средства массовой информации в современном мире».

Учитель: Вакула М.Ю.
Класс: 8 А
Тема урока: “Mass Media in modern world”.
Цель урока: развитие различных видов речевой деятельности учащихся на уроках английского языка посредством использования заданий в рамках подготовки к обязательному государственному экзамену (ОГЭ).
Задачи урока:
Образовательные:
1) обогащать и активизировать лексический запас учащихся;
2) активизировать изученные грамматические структуры;
3) развивать навыки восприятия устной речи;
4) развивать навыки письменной коммуникации.
Развивающие:
1) расширять кругозор учащихся;
2) развивать речевые умения;
3) развивать память, внимание, мышление, воображение;
4) способствовать укреплению навыков рефлексии;
Воспитательные:
1) способствовать становлению представлений о самоценности каждой личности;
2) развивать навыки групповой работы;
3) учить грамотному ведению творческого диалога;
4) способствовать становлению благоприятного психологического климата в группе.
Оборудование урока: мультимедийный проектор, мультимедийная презентация, видеоролик, раздаточный материал, материал для организации рефлексии.

Ход урока:
I. Организационный момент.
T: Good morning, students. I am glad to see you.
P: Good morning, teacher. We are glad to see you too.
T: Sit down, please. Let’s begin our English lesson.
T: I’d like to start our lesson with the questions:
1) What is the weather like today?
2) Do you like such weather?
3) What would you like to do in such weather?
P: I would like to watch videos on TV (to use the Internet, to read magazines).
II. Введение в тему урока.
T: Let’s do the crossword. Read the definitions and try to guess the words, then find and cross them.
1) A large, thin book with a paper cover, often printed paper, which contains stories, articles, photos and sometimes news. (a magazine)
2) A set of large folded sheets or paper containing news. (a newspaper)
3) Newspapers and the people who write for them (the press)
4) The system of broadcasting pictures and sound. The box-shaped thing with a glass screen on which you watch programmes. ( the television)
5) The system of broadcasting sound. You can listen to different music, news, stories.

T: Read the definitions and name the words.
T: Give your comments what do these words mean. What about television (a newspaper and radio)?
P: Watching TV is broadcasting different programmes for people.
P: A newspaper is a paper printed and sold usually daily or weekly with news.
P: Listening to the radio is a process of sending and receiving messages through the air, broadcasting the programmes for people to listen to.
T: And now tell me what are we going to talk about today?
T: Yes, you are right. We are going to talk about different mass media, so the topic of our lesson is “Mass media in modern world”.
T: What are the aims of our lesson? What are we going to do today?
P: We are going to read and translate texts (to express our opinions, to know about the mass media, to know more about the mass media in Britain, to do different tasks).
T: There are a lot of aims at our lesson today.
III. Фонетическая зарядка.
T: First, let’s review the words on our topic “Mass media”. Write down the words which are associated with our topic. Take the cards and do the task.


T: Name the words which you have written.
(radio, telephone, programme, soap opera, video, local, popular, concert, photographer, correspondent, amazing, daily, newspaper, information, detail, dangerous, talk show, weather forecast, report, journalist, reporter, tabloid, enjoy, channel, character, advert, satellite, scandal, computer, news, musical, review, the Internet, cartoon, broadcast, pop | classical music, film, sports, documentary, quiz).
T: Thank you. I see you know a lot of words about the mass media.
IV. Речевая зарядка.
T: Say which of the mass media is the most useful (the most common, the most expensive, the cheapest, the most modern, the most interesting, the most convenient).
T: Use the following example, please:
I think the most popular mass media is the Internet because it is very convenient to use.
T: Open your student’s books at page 65 and find the exercise number 3. Think of the advantages and disadvantages of the different mass media. Use the phrases and give your reasons. Work in groups, please.
T: The first group: your point of view is the mass media are the best invitations the man ever made. The second group: your point of view is the mass media are the worst invitations the man ever made.
T: You have some minutes for doing the task.

T: Stand up and let’s have a rest. Let’ do the movements.
Turn your head to the right.
Turn your head to the left.
Bend forward your head.
Bend back you head.
Raise up and down your shoulders.
Turn back your right shoulder.
Turn back your left shoulder.
Close your eyes for 5 seconds.
Open your eyes for 5 seconds.
T: The pupils from the third desks, take your things and sit at the third row’s desks.

T: Continue working in groups, make up the questions using the words on the cards.

Can you watch any American or British programmes in your area?
T: Ask these questions the members of another group.
VII. Аудирование.
T: Watch the video about the Mass media in Britain and fill in the missing words. Use the cards on your desks.
I.
We are going to look at the media in Britain. We are going to find out about television, radio and the Internet. What do you know about the British newspapers and the magazines? In tabloid paper you find more gossip, more human interesting stories, pictures and not very much serious news. A lot of people listen to the news on the radio. There are three other TV channels: ITV, Channel 4 and Channel 5.
II.
We are going to look at the m … in Britain. We are going to find out about t… , r… and the I…. What do you know about the British n… and the m…? In t… paper you find more g…, more human interesting s…, pictures and not very much serious n…. A lot of people l… to the news on the radio. There are three other TV c…: I…, C… and C….
T: Change the cards with your partners and look at the slide with answers, check up each other and put the marks.
T: Let’s watch the video once more and answer the questions, do it in pairs.
1) Do the British love reading newspapers?
2) What do the British people read?
3) Do they listen to the radio?
4) What is BBC?
5) Is BBC a commercial channel?
VIII. Объяснение домашнего задания.
T: Your homework is on the cards. Read the texts and do the tasks. Some of you have more difficult tasks on the cards.
IX. Рефлексия.
T: Was our lesson joyful, successful and creative? Was our work productive at the lesson? You’ve done your best today. Please, give marks for your work using smileys on the cards.

X. Подведение итогов урока.
T: I want to finish our lesson with the words “Obtain the information – obtain the world”. I wish you to obtain the world.
T: Our lesson is over. Thank you for your work.
